“I Can Do It” Building Young Children’s Positive Behaviours Parents Training Programme 2024
Centre for Advancement in Inclusive and Special Education (CAISE), Faculty of Education, HKU has years of successful experience in training parents to support their children. Many parents, their children, and the whole family have benefitted significantly from this 6-week intensive programme.
Through this programme, parents will be able to
- understand their children’s behavioral, social and emotional needs;
- employ practical skills to train their children to develop positive behaviors through play, and
- enhance the parent-child relationship.
We sincerely invite you to give a GIFT to support the needy families with children with Autism to join the programme.
To double up the impact, from now until December 31, 2023, the Regencell Foundation (RGC) offers to match every dollar raised so that more children with autism can receive appropriate training at home and build positive behaviours. For example, when you donate HK$800, RGC will donate HK$800. RGC has generously agreed to match the funding up to a maximum donation of HK$250,000.
You could give a gift by

(2) send us a cheque with the donation form (click here) to DAAO of The University of Hong Kong. More details can be found on the donation form.
Note: Receipts will be issued for donations of HK$100 or above for tax deduction purposes.
About “I Can Do It” Building Young Children’s Positive Behaviours Parents Training Programme

In class, videos of real cases are used to help parents understand and analyze the main causes of children’s social, emotional, and behavioral issues. Parents get 1:1 tutoring to practise the evidence-based strategies and tailor-made targets set by the trainers before they implement the home programme. Parents are also facilitated to set targets themselves. Our successful annual programme in the past years has trained many parents to become their children’s best trainers with promising and sustainable progress.

The Feedback from the Parents
“Thanks Kit and mentors! I feel very lucky to be able to join this programme. It hugely benefits the parents and their children. It is not only theories, parents practically learn how to improve their skills to make their child improve. The video feedback is very useful and we know how to improve ourselves. My child has made very good progress in his emotion and behaviour as a result.” (2023)
“Excellent! I want to join again and continue to learn. Through the programme, I have made improvements in communicating with my child and have a better relationship with my family members.” (2021)
“They now have better understanding on how to communicate with the others, and they have developed better self-control through games” (2020)
“I have once felt hopeless because of his performance. There is no medicine, his problem cannot be cured. Thanks to you all for turning him into what he is now. You all have not only helped him, but also his entire life and me as well. I am so contented to see his current performance. I can now see the fruitful result.” (2018)
