| Workshop Objective 工作坊目標 |
The purpose of this program is not only to help the secondary school students boost their learning motivation in traditional academic subjects (i.e., Math, Chinese, and English), as a result, improve their academic performance. It also aims to encourage the students to take the initiative in exploring unfamiliar subjects and fields. Meanwhile, as their learning motivation and interests increase, the students will also be able to learn more hands-on experience by listening to some guest speakers and watching tutorial videos. In addition, the students will have a better comprehension of each field and its future career development potential.
這工作坊目的不僅是説明中學生提高他們在傳統學科（即數學、語文和英語）的學習動機，從而提高他們的學習成績。它還旨在鼓勵學生主動探索不熟悉的學科和領域。同時，隨著學習動機和興趣的增加，學生們還可以通過聽一些客座演講者和觀看指導視頻來學習更多的實踐經驗。另外，學生們還將更好地理解每個領域及其未來的職業發展潛力。 |
| Workshop Outline 工作坊大綱 |
1 Orientation Session & Learning of Science, I Let the participants get familiar with each other, set the ground rules and introduce the whole program. 2 Learning of Science, II A continued learning and technique sharing in learning science and related subjects. Students are expected to learn more practical skills in learning science related subjects and homework is assigned to each student to learn more working and career related experience with their family members and friends. 3 Learning of Arts, I Session Objective: The student is going to learn more practical skills in learning of arts by engaging in some small group/individual activities. 4 Learning of Arts, II Session Objective: a continued learning and technique sharing in learning arts and related subjects. Students are expected to learn more practical skills in learning arts related subjects and homework is assigned to each student to learn more working and career related experience with their family members and friends. 5 Explore your true interests and talents (parents can be invited to join) More unfamiliar subjects that are not usually covered in Chinese school learning are going to be covered in this class. To open the students’ mind and provide them with more opportunities in future learning. The students are empowered to share their true interests in any fields not only in traditional subjects, but also some things like, fashion designing, drawing, modeling, archaeology, astronomy… Each student is invited to share how they develop their own interests and talents in such areas and how they would like to manage their interests in future working contexts.

Shirley worked as an educational consultant in Canada before enrolling in the MEd Guidance and Counseling program at HKU Faculty of Education. Specialized in Human Resources Management and has graduated from UBC Sauder Business school makes her a good listener, and also a person who is passionate about sharing and talking with people. With her years of working experience in dealing with students from different age groups, she got to know many students who have trouble developing learning motivation and interests. Fortunately, with her guidance and help, many students have successfully found their true interests and gradually learned many practical learning methods, and finally, overcome their difficulties in learning.
Shirley在就讀于香港大學教育研究生,指導和諮詢項目之前，曾經是加拿大的一名教育顧問。通過本科期間，學習人力資源管理並從UBC Sauder商學院畢業，她學習成為了一個很好的傾聽者，也是一個十分熱衷與他人分享和交談的人。 憑藉多年與不同年齡段學生打交道的工作經驗，她認識了許多在培養學習動機和興趣方面有困難的學生。幸運的是，在她耐心的引導和幫助下，許多學生成功地找到了他們真正的興趣所在。同時，也慢慢地學會了許多實用的學習方法，克服了學習中的困難。 |
